This project involved the extension of two semi-detached ‘workers cottages’ on a small inner-city allotment. The design minimises the impact of adjoining properties while maximising the amenity of the residence. Through the use of familiar materiality, roof form and architectural qualities, this modern interpretation of the ‘workers cottage’ maintains a human scale at street frontage
